Hollywood! cont'd

I found the restaurant. Ate some food. It was amazing to be so free to do whatever I wanted! I met up with Kara, her mom, and sister who are lovely and just had a great day!  We went to Hollywood Blvd. and I just loved it!  Before Hollywood Blvd though we had to act super happy for the camera about"arriving" to the hotel even though we came 12 hours earlier lol. There was a lot of acting.  The next day we had makeovers! It was the day of the premiere and I was sooo excited.  Once the camera crew came we had to go over our lines like a million times.  I just hated the forced smile etc they made me do...not my thing. I tried my hardest though lol.  We went over and over our reactions and being happy.  So when the glam squad came it was a lot to say the least.  My guy Neeko had done so many celebs I couldn't even count them all! He had this girl who was like his asst. and literally repeated anything anyone said around her....so yeah, kind of annoying.  He was definitively confident in his skills!  I told him how my bff does my hair in beauty school and he was like "well this is def not beauty school!" I was like okay...sassier then Cinna(; But he wasss amazing! Oh and our stylist was cool too!  And about that...I'm still really upset that they told us we would need a dress. I spent my whole weekend, my friend's day, my aunt's money, and my patience looking for that dress!  I was so upset!! I was like well can I wear it? Cause at this point I had been so anxious about finding the damn dress I just wanted to wear it. But they said it was too prommy even though I sent the people on the east coast a picture of it at their request and they said it was fine!  No communication there...whatevs, even though I hate short dressed I choose my dress because it was good waste up.  So once we were on the carpet I was asked who I was in the movie, which tribute?! So that was funny!  And we were treated like celebs. Verrrry interesting being treated like VIP. So once we were there there was no room for Kara and I to stand together. It was Lionsgate's fault but still really annoying nonthelss cause Kara and  could not do it together!  Also I was very disappointed in the fact that when Jenn came there was really no time so I wasn't allowed to ask her a true fan question.  At the end of the day I was a fan who won this competition and I think we should have had more say in how we acted!  I was told a bunch of times how good I was yada yada. The woman from TV Guide next to me seemed annoyed to be there and I just feel like I would have been too if I didn't love the franchise. Like it's just not my scene!  I got to interview Gary Ross the director and I called him a God....I interviewed Jack Quaid and I had a blast! I also interviewed Josh and Jenn but there's were fast! I talked to Cody Simpson for awhile and Willow and Amandla who play Prim and Rue!(:  I hated how we had to spilt up who we talked to until the end, Kara convinced them to let me up during her time too so that was fun!  It was crazy cause we Gary came up no one (Kara or Mike) knew who he was!!! After we saw the movie (loved it) minus Cody Simpson and his sister who were sitting next to me talking the whole time...then we did another segment and people asked for photos with us!!! We talked about how great it was! And then off to the after party we went where we literally hob nobbed with young Hollywood to quote wendy! I went up to Darren Criss!  SOOO cool! I just loved it all. Next I'll say my reaction to flying out a third time, this time to NYC and how I felt about the video piece they put together.

Hollywood!

So I left off my last post kind of in the middle of a sentence if I remember correctly because I went in to such detail about everything (partly cause it happened the day before and was so fresh) but now a week has passed since my last excursion and I don't think I will be thaaat descriptive and ware myself out lol. So this trip was so exciting. The only set back was that the people in NYC told me I would need to buy my own gown after they already told me they would provide a stylist to do that. So I was annoyed to say the least cause A) I dont know what to wear and B)I dont know what will fit my unique shape properly C) I dont have all this money lying around on such short notice (a week) so I went shopping and spent hours online and in malls trying to find the perfect gown amiss prom shoppers it was hard!  So my aunt whose husband is the CFO of Nordstrom's got me a beautiful dress from there eventually and I was so happy!! I took the picture and sent it to the offices of NYC and they said ok good! The whole dress thing gave me a lot anxiety because it's hard to find a dress that's not super short and right for someone who is tall anddd thick! Plus I like sleeves and light colors but I was willing to compromise on sleeves. So anywho I got it tailored in 2 days thank goodness after my aunt paid extra to have it sent in 24 hours. Meanwhile I got the blonde dyed out of my hair which I hated to begin with (all the blonde was a project for my friend's beauty school and I only had it for 3 weeks though everyone thought longer) but I had had 2 strips dyed since july so it felt weird to go back! The day before I left I went to a Hunger Games party at my library and had a blast and it definitively got me pumped!  We also had a conference call with the freelance producer Mike (he has worked for Ellen and Kelly Ripa too!)  on what we would be doing and it sounded like a lot of work! He even referred to himself as a "slavedriver" joking, of course but I was like oh no.  Cause when people are really controlling and bossy well I'm controlling and bossy so I was nervous about our dynamics lol. On the way to the airport I got my driver to read it!  Well he said he would, hope it was not just to shut me up...lol (;

So the flight was long but there were tvs and snacks so I was good! There were even moving maps so I knew where we were flying over!  My favorite was the Rocky Mountains, so pretty. Can't wait to visit my aunt there! Anyways I arrived and it was the same deal, driver with my name, yada yada. And I say yada yada cause I'm kinda used to it now...and later I'll explain why that's kinda sad!  So I finally arrived to my hotel where I stayed in a huge suite! Like mega huge, Kara and I would share the room but it was like 2.5 rooms in one!  So I waited for her and her nice mom and sister to come but in the meantime went to look for food!  I walked downstairs and across the street to the Staples Center and Nokia Theater (I would've eaten there but the hotel was under construction and remember what happened last time I ate snacks in my room...) so I went    and looked for food and saw there was a HUGE hunger game event in front of both nokia and staples where the premiere would be the following day!  This was what I had read about, the fans who sleep out there get to get tickets to see the movie but it was so cool! There were tents and tons of signs and celebs from the movies were coming and signing stuff! I was amazed, but still hungry so I looked and looked but all there was was Woolfgang Puck and Katsuya where I know celebs eat all the time! Finally I found ESPN restaurant and dug in! So this actually is really long lol, I'll write more tomorrow!

I shall talk about how it was once I was in NYC.

This was my first time traveling to another city, alone and not going to see family. I was very excited and honest;y not nervous at all. I was nervous because they kept telling me if I win my reaction has to be BIG! And I don't know, for some reason I was not sure my reaction would be big enough if I won. I thought I would win just cause of what the producer kept telling me how great mine was etc. So everyone was telling me how they were going to DVR it etc. And I don't I was just happy and sooo anxious to hear the results! I would've been shocked if I didn't win but there is always the chance that someone else's was the bomb! So I certainly felt like a tribute flying out to the (capitol) New York as I blogged about earlier. I flew in to a Liguardia airport and found a driver holding the sign "M.JONES) so I shook his hand and he opened the door to the town car and there were ice cold water bottles and it was awesome, I felt fancy for sure. Then I stayed in an amazing hotel called the W Hotel. I can't even describe how chic and cool it was. I don't have better adjectives to describe it! It was like 11pm and I was hungry so I walked a couple of blocks for some 99 cent pizza. I then called my mom and she freaked out that I was not in my bed so I ran back to my hotel lol. I'm tired right now, I'll add more later.

My first video!

How I won the Hunger Games correspondent position!

It's been a few days but the memory is still fresh enough in my mind to describe my amazing experience that was the Wendy Williams show correspondent position. Here goes(:

I was on the internet making my rounds on tumblr, facebook, hob.org,mockingjay.net, dtwc when i saw on all 3 sites that there was going to be a competition for the biggest Hunger Games fan to be flown to the premiere and get to interview the stars on the red carpet. I had already entered to win tickets to the premiere on the 50 days to the Hunger Games 50/50 contest all over twitter. I had probably entered 30, but this was different cause instead of just seeing the movie, you got to be on the red carpet.  I really just wanted to see the movie early but this was really awesome too! So I got busy with school ,recently quitting my jobs, and just being depressed about it.  I remembered a couple of days after I saw it and I was like oh well I'll try it!  I didn't list/tag my videos or even put titles on them because I did not want anyone to see them.  I had just gone to Sephora so my make up looked cool and I was content.  So I proceeded to talk about how I was a fan and showed off all my little items I had collected. I remembered that this was for the biggest fan but it is the Wendy show at the end of the day so I did my "How you doin" and I made sure to say how I watch her and I love fashion (as I very much do). So I uploaded it. I got a little nervous cause in my video I said "well I;m not the BIGGEST fan" and as uploaded that I was like crap, I should not have said that.  I mean clearly I love the book but I run a blog and I have seen other fans with their tattoos and everything!  So luckily when you entered the videos there was a comment thing so I made sure to say that! Anywho, I was not going to loose any sleep over it and was watching tv.  I checked my phone (15 min after I uploaded the video) it was a number I didn't know and they left a message! I thought this couldn't be them...and I quickly squashed that idea. Realizing oh gosh no. But then I heard "this is dan from the wendy show!" I called him back, left a message and said I would wait forever for him to call again! This time my phone never left my side! And when he called back we talked about the books and everything! Then he told me how Wendy had not read them so explain it to her and my video was great but to bump up my energy in the next one! He wanted me to do another and talk about the reality tv aspect like I mentioned and the fashion! He said no one else had mentioned the fashion. I take these books pretty seriously so initially I was trying to talk about the government and stuff but my sister who was filming it was like "this is wendy, she's gonna want fun! remember what he said about fashion and reality tv" so I kept trying to just focus on that but I was tired and he needed it by the next morning! I had already taken my makeup off and was in my pjs and I just wanted to sleep. When I get tired or don't feel well I get really cranky. But if I try enough I can fool anyone in to thinking I'm ok so the final product I was a t my wit's end, I was tired of stuttering and I was in so much pain but I turned on the charm and turned up the energy! So yes, the rest is history! He called me 2 days later and said I was in the top 10.  He said I would stay in a hotel and go on the show the following day. So that was Friday, and the following Tuesday I would fly out.  In one week since I made the video, I was off to New York!  I will blog about that experience later!(:
